Chart of the Day: Cheap condos dominate Q1 sales to top three foreign buyers

Over half of condos bought by Chinese, Malaysian and Indian buyers were priced below $1.5m.

This chart from OrangeTee & Tie shows that the top three foreign condo buyers in Singapore bought a higher proportion of lower-priced homes in the city in Q1. The bulk of the purchases by Chinese, Malaysian and Indian buyers were priced below $1.5m.

On the other hand, the majority of buyers from USA, United Kingdom, Australia, France and Hong Kong, who are amongst the top foreign buyers in the city, bought pricier homes that were above $1.5m.

Overall, fewer homes were bought by foreigners last month, as stricter border controls were implemented across several countries and potential buyers were unable to visit Singapore to view the properties.
