Chart of the Day: Check out how much shoebox units were bought in OCR

It's 53.3% of overall transaction volume.

According to Knight Frank, mass market shoebox properties attract more followers due to its ‘bite-size’ investment price quantum, where more than 90 per cent of such units are below $1 million (based on transactions from January 2012 to September 2013).

Savills said that the Outside Central Region (OCR) accounted for 53.3 per cent of new sale shoebox transaction volume in the first 9 months of 2013, slightly lower than the 54.1 per cent proportion in 2012 but significantly higher than the previous years.

Noticeably, this proportion spiked to 78.7 per cent in 3Q 2013 due to strong sales at J Gateway, which had 223 caveats lodged for shoebox units in the quarter.
