Chart of the Day: Shoebox unit sales hit 2,400 in 2011

This exceeded the record high of 1,999 units in 2010.

Shoebox or micro apartments, i.e. those which are 500 sq ft or less each, have gained popularity since their conceptualization and intensive roll-out by developers in 2009.

Based on transactions captured by URA’s REALIS, a total of 2,400 shoebox units were transacted 2011. This exceeded the record high of 1,999 units in 2010. These include developer sales, sub-sales and resale.
