Guess which BTO flats attracted most of the buyers
4-room units were the most appealing.
The Housing and Development Board of Singapore launched its biggest build-to-order (BTO) exercise this year, with 5,110 units scattered across 25 towns up for grabs.
According to PropNex Realty CEO Ismail Gafoor, HDB’s largest joint BTO and Sale of Balance Flats exercises for the year is expected to have higher subscription rates for the matured estates, especially in Bedok, Toa Payoh and Kallang / Whampoa, of between 4 to 8 times while the non-matured estates are likely to have a subscription rate of 1 to 3 times.
He noted that second-timers formed tha main bulk of applicants this round.
"These second-timers are primarily HDB upgraders and they favour the matured estates with the 4-room flats in Bedok and Kallang being the most popular at an application rate of 24.1 and 50.6 respectively," he noted.
This is largely due to the smaller supply of 158 units in Kallang Residences and upgraders will require a bigger size of 4-room flat to accommodate their families.
Gafoor noted that it was the most popular launches are the 4-room in Kallang Residences and also the 4-room in Bidadari.
“Our earlier prediction of the overall application rate of 3 to 5 times for November 2016 still stands, taking into consideration the overall drop in application rate of 4.7 in February to 3.7 in May and 2.3 in August, ” Gafoor remarked.
