HDB to launch 13,000 BTO flats in H2
The flats will be located in towns and estates such as Choa Chu Kang and Bedok.
The Housing and Development Board will offer 13,000 build-to-order (BTO) flats in the second half of 2023, 31% more than the 9,923 units launched in H1.
Of these, 6,700 BTO flats will launch in August, and approximately 6,300 will be released in November.
In an announcement posted on its website, HDB said that the August flats will be located at Choa Chu Kang, Kallang Whampoa, Queenstown, and Tengah. November’s supply will come from towns and estates such as Bedok, Bishan, Bukit Merah, Bukit Panjang, Jurong West, Queenstown and Woodlands.
In total, HDB expects to launch 23,000 flats in 2023, and said that it is on track to launch a total of 100,000 flats between 2021 to 2025.

Combined, HDB has ramped up its supply of BTO flats by 35%, from 17,100 flats released in 2021, to 23,200 flats in 2022, and the 2023 flats.
In terms of resales, a total of 6,409 HDB flats were reportedly resold in Q2, 4.6% lower than in the same period in 2022. This is also the lowest in three years, since Q3 2020.
In terms of resale prices, the government’s cooling measures– which include a 15 month wait-out period before private property owners can purchase a non-subsidised HDB flat– has led to moderation in the rate of increase in resale prices, according to HDB.
