HDB rents down 0.5%

Despite 17.9% uptick in rental volume.

SRX Property price index revealed that HDB rents decreased 0.5% from September to October this year, with rents for HDB 3 Rooms, HDB 4 Rooms and Executive declining by 0.2%, 1.0% and 1.1%, respectively

On a yearly basis, rents were down 4%, and 11.3% lower than the peak in August 2013.

This came as HDB rental volume saw a 17.9% increase. Figures revealed that an estimated 1,814 HDB flats were rented in October, compared to 1,538 units rented in the past month.

Meanwhile, rents in mature and mature estates both dipped 0.5% respectively.
