
HDB resale prices dip 0.1% in March
While resale volume jumped 37.6%.
HDB resale prices decreased slightly in March 2016, slipping 0.1% from the prices in the preceding month.
According to flash estimates by SRX Property, the resale prices of HDB 3 rooms, 4 rooms, and executive flats dropped 0.8%, 0.2% and 1.6% respectively. On the other hand, the resale prices of HDB 5 room flats inched up 0.7%.
Based on the SRX Property Price Index for HDB resale, prices have inched up 0.1% YoY from March 2015. Also, prices have tumbled 11% since the peak in April 2013, and there have been no price changes in February 2016.
Further, March 2016 saw HDB resale prices slip in mature estates by 0.3% while resale prices in non-mature estates stayed the same. In YoY terms, prices in mature estates have edged up 0.3% from March 2015, and prices in non-mature estates dipped by 0.1% from March 2015.
Meanwhile, 1,651 HDB resale flats were sold in March 2016, a 37.6% jump from 1,200 transacted units in February 2016. Resale volume skyrocketed 22.5% YoY compared to 1,348 units resold in March 2015. Further, resale volume was down by 54.8% compared to its peak of 3,649 units in May 2010.
