HDB on track to launch 13,600 flats by end-2013

28,000 new flats targeted next year.

The Housing Board (HDB) committed to deliver 13,600 flats to Singaporeans in 2013. This month, HDB confirmed that they are on track to meet this.

According to Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan, 9,000 flats were completed as of September 6 which is 50 percent more than the completed units in June.

"Today, I witnessed the handover of keys from the main contractor to HDB at Floral Spring @ Yishun. This project marks the completion of 9,000 HDB flats this year – 50 percent more than in June.

More than just meeting numbers, HDB is also delivering quality flats to home buyers. Floral Spring @ Yishun is a good example.

This housing project is located in an infill site, surrounded by existing residential developments. Together, HDB and the contractors completed this project on schedule while minimising inconvenience to surrounding residents," said Khaw.

He also added, "next year, HDB targets to complete and deliver more than 28,000 new flats, double this year’s record."
