Monthly income ceiling for families for 2-room flats hiked to $5,000

Versus previous ceiling of $2,000.

According to a release, with effect from this BTO launch, the monthly household income ceiling for families for 2-room flats in non-mature estates will be increased from $2,000 to $5,000, to give more families the option to buy such flats.

With effect from today, the Government will also extend the AHG to singles buying a resale flat in the open market.

The AHG will be up to $20,000 for those who apply under the SSC and up to $40,000 for those who apply under the JSS. These will be on top of the CPF Housing Grant ($15,000 under SSC and $30,000 under JSS), that they would already be getting.

The extensions of AHG and SHG are intended to provide even more help to singles to buy their first flat.
