National Day Rally: BTO flat priority extended to singles caring for parents

The extension will take effect by the middle of 2025.

Singles who wish to live close to or with their parents will now be given priority access to BTO flats, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said in his first National Day Rally speech.

The priority was only formerly given to the children and their parents.

I think we should not limit this to married children. After all, many single children also want to stay close to their aged parents to take care of them,” Wong said

We do this to make it easier for families to look after one another. He added

The BTO priority access extension will take effect by the middle of next year.

The Ministry of National Development (MND) will announce more details about the exertion in “due course.”
