
Over 6 in 10 couples would pay top dollar for smart condos: survey
Convenience, energy efficiency are top priorities.
Smart technologies are gaining traction in Singapore, as majority of young couples say they would dole out money for additional features such as smart lighting.
According to a poll by Qingjian Realty of 100 respondents between 20 to 40 years old, over 8 in 10 (81%) respondents plan to buy a house with their partner.
Moreover, more than 7 in 10 (79%) young couples shared they will consider living in an executive condominium (EC) enabled with smart technologies.
Among those, over 6 in 10 (63%) are willing to dole out $30,000 to $40,000 to furnish their home with smart features.
The respondents further shared that among the features of a smart home, convenience, energy efficiency, and safety are the most appealing. The young couples also asserted that they would like a smart home to be equipped with smart lighting, air conditioning and security.
