
Private condo rents down 1% in March
HDB rents were fairly flat.
Rents of non-landed private residential units dropped by 1.0% month-on-month in March, according to data released by SRX Property.
The decline was led by a 1.9% contraction in rents for city-fringe properties. Rents in the Core Central Region (CCR) dropped by 0.8%, while rents in the Outside Central Region (OCR) slipped by 0.4%.
Over in the public housing market, HDB rents dropped by a mere 0.1% in March. Three-room flats posted a 0.8% decrease in rents, while rents of five-room flats rose by 1.5%.
Private rental volume rose 35.5% month-on-month to 4,331 units in March, while HDB rental volume rose 44.3% month-on-month to 2,214 units.
