Private home prices inched higher by 0.5% in 1Q13

Almost a third of 4Q12's increase.

According to Knight Frank, private home prices increased marginally in 1Q 2013 at 0.5 per cent quarter-on-quarter (q-o-q), less than one-third the increase in 4Q 2012 at 1.8 per cent q-o-q.

Knight Frank also said that price increases in 1Q 2013 slowed across all market segments, where prices of high-end (in Core Central Region, CCR) and mass market properties (in Outside Central Region, OCR) increased by 0.4 per cent and 1.7 per cent, respectively, which translate to about half of the increases in 4Q 2012 (0.7 per cent and 3.8 per cent, respectively).

"Prices of mid market properties (in Rest of Central Region) remained unchanged at 0 per cent increase in 1Q 2013," it said.
