Private home sales plunge 69.3% in August as Ghost Month jitters grip the market

Only 465 units were sold.

A dearth of new launches caused private home sales to crash by a whopping 69.3% to just 465 units in August, which came after developers sold an unprecedented 1,611 units in July.

Analysts had previously expected that new launches will fizzle during the traditionally quiet Ghost Month period.

Including Executive Condominiums (ECs), developers sold a total of 961 units compared to 2,106 units in July.

Previous bestsellers continued to move units last month. High Park Residences at Fernvale Road sold 76 units during the month, while Botanique at Bartley sold 30 units.
