Singapore to redevelop Dakota Crescent: MND Minister Lawrence Wong
HDB flats will be built, whilst the central courtyard will be retained.
One of Singapore's first housing projects, Dakota Crescent, will be developed by Singaporean authorities, Minister for National Development Lawrence Wong said.
According to a Facebook post, authorities will build new HDB flats and retain the central cluster of buildings around the courtyard for community uses.
Dakota Crescent was developed by the Singapore Improvement Trust (SIT) in 1958 as a public rental housing estate. It previously had 15 low-rise blocks and the popular dove playground, the minister said.
"We will continue to engage stakeholders and involve the wider community as we redevelop this estate," Wong added.
