Swire Properties sells entire ultra-luxury EDEN project
All 20 units, worth $4,827 per square feet, were sold.
Developer Swire Properties sold all 20 units of its EDEN ultra-luxury residential project, designed by Thomas Heatherwick, to multiple buyers.
The EDEN residential project has an overall floor area of 3,000 sq. ft. that features four en-suite bedrooms. It was sold for a total of $293m, or $4,827 per sq. ft.. The acquisition of the project will be completed by 26 May.
“We’re delighted to sell all 20 apartments at EDEN, our phenomenal ultra-luxury residences in the heart of Singapore,” said Guy Bradley, chief executive of Swire Properties.
The property is located at 2 Draycott Park in Singapore’s District 10 Orchard Road neighbourhood. It was the first residential development Heatherwick completed globally.
“This is a significant transaction as it reflects EDEN’s distinct design, which has been combined with green living experiences, and also recognises the strength of our residential brand in this new market,” Bradley said.
“Moving forward, we’ll continue to explore Singapore for more opportunities that showcase our brand and fit our business strategy,” he added.
EDEN’s design was inspired by Singapore’s vision of a “city in a garden”. One of its iconic features is the 270-degree bespoke “private-gardens-in-the-sky” filled with tropical greenery that seeks to reconnect residents to nature.
The project, according to Swire Properties, sets a new benchmark for sustainable ultra-luxury residences. Amongst the green components of the project are the inclusion of natural ventilation, reducing the need for air-conditioning and energy usage, and tailored concrete to aid natural cooling.
EDEN had also earned a Green Mark Platinum rating from Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority. It was completed in 2019.
