Louis Vuitton & Yayoi Kusama pop-up store to open in Singapore
A collaboration where art meets fashion finds its way to Singapore. It is one of the 7 Louis Vuitton Kusama concept stores opening worldwide.
The Singapore branch will be located at Ngee Ann City, near the Louis Vuitton store, opening on July 13. Other cities include fashion capitals' Tokyo, NewYork, Hong Kong, Paris, and London.
The concept store in Singapore will be inspired by “nerves”: the biomorphic shaped sculptures which are one of Yayoi Kusama’s most iconic artworks. The stores will be covered with red polka dots, which reflect Kusama’s obsession with the idea of accumulation. These stores will be extremely vigorous and playful with large scales and vivid colours: all in Kusama’s iconic red and white.
The stores are set to give clients the impression of entering inside Kusama’s artworks, and to “self-obliterate” themselves as Yayoi Kusama has wished it to be.
Window displays
Much awaited are the two artworks for the worldwide network of Louis Vuitton stores.
The "Eternal Blooming Flowers in Mind", featuring iconic flower sculptures of Kusama, and the "Beginning of the Universe", featuring her nonetheless iconic “nerve” sculptures.
Louis Vuitton and Yayoi Kusama products
The product collection will be the most expansive product collection to date, from RTW to shoes, accessories like sunglasses and scarves, watches and jewellery, leather bags, small leather goods.
