See where Courts Asia is building its largest Malaysian store

Near Bandar Sri Damansara and Klang Valley.

Mainboard-listed Courts Asia Limited (Courts Asia) announced the site of its first ‘Big-Box’ Megastore in Malaysia. This will be the Group’s largest store in Malaysia, and will be located in 8trium in Bandar Sri Damansara, on the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2).

Scheduled for opening in August 2013, the 108,000 square feet two-storey Sri Damansara Megastore will offer the largest range of electrical, IT and furniture products in Malaysia and a host of multi-channel shopping experiences.

The retail haven is part of an integrated business-retail cum leisure concept development that will serve an immediate population of over 750,000. Its opening is part of the Group’s growth strategy of increasing its retail area in Malaysia by an average of 120,000 sq. ft. annually over the next two to three years.

Courts Asia’s Executive Director and Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Terence Donald O’Connor, said: "The ‘Big-Box’ format store is one that we pioneered in Singapore, and we are very excited to find a ready site that is in move-in condition for our first ‘Big-Box’ store in Malaysia. Household needs are becoming more sophisticated today, and innovative retailing concepts that provide multi-channel experiences have become an important part of the purchase consideration. As such, there could not be a better time to introduce the ‘Big-Box’ store format in Malaysia, and we are especially looking forward to having a substantial presence in Bandar Sri Damansara, with its vibrant mix of residential and office properties, high population density and accessible location."
