However, most prefer to purchase products through the internet.
At least 57% of Singaporeans say that they get the best customer service when shopping in stores, even though many prefer to make their holiday purchases via the internet through their smartphone, tablet, or computer, a survey by Meta revealed.
In its Holiday and Mega-sale Days Insights, identified the research and purchasing behaviours of Singaporean shoppers with most Singaporeans preferring to use digital methods in almost all of their holiday shopping decisions.
Around 85% of respondents said they research holiday gifts mostly through the internet using their smartphone, tablet, and/or computer with only 35% of respondents doing this in-store.
Meanwhile, 82% also said they often make holiday purchases through the internet with only 56% going out to buy them in person. Compared to the younger generation (Gen Z, Millennials), older Singaporeans prefer to make holiday purchases in-store, with Baby Boomers leading the way at 70%.
