
How brand conscious are shoppers? Majority says they stick to brands they like
Two in 10 consumers are brand followers.
Majority or 65% of shoppers in the Lion City are brand conscious, meaning they stick to brands they like, recent data from YouGov Global Profiles showed.
On the profile of brand conscious consumers, Singaporeans who tend to stay with brands they like are more likely to be women with 67% than men with 63%.
“They are also more likely to be younger consumers aged 18 to 29 years than 30 years or older,” read the report.

Two in 10 shoppers or 23% are brand followers or those who purchase from some brands without minding the price.
Only 10% are brand loyalists which means they will stick to their preferred brand even if another brand is on sale.
YouGov Global Profiles used an audience dataset with more than 1,000 questions across 43 markets, including Singapore.
This study was made amidst the Southeast Asia’s e-commerce platform consortium created an initiative to curb fake products on online retail.
