Unsettled fire permits caused delay.
The management of Jurong East Mall (JEM) has finally announced that Singapore's third largest suburban mall will open on Saturday, June 15 at 10am. This follows after delaying its opening last Tuesday over administrative issues.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force noted that they have approved 229 fire safety applications sent by JEM as of Thursday.
It was reported that JEM was not able to secure the necessary fire permits which halted its official opening. To welcome shoppers, JEM will be giving away $10 vouchers to its first 1,000 shoppers.
