One World Duty Free inks agreement to operate duty-free store in Sri Lanka
Construction would begin in mid-2023.
One World Duty-Free (ODF) signed agreements with the Colombo Port City Economic Commission to operate Sri Lanka's first downtown duty-free store.
The Singapore-owned duty-free operator agreed to build and operate the 1,250 square metres duty-free store at Port City Colombo within the 7,000-square-metre Port City Duty-Free Mall.
Construction of the ODF downtown duty-free store in Port City Colombo would begin in mid-2023, with trading planned to kick off by the end of the year.
Once completed, it would offer a curated mix of international brands spanning beauty, wellness, spirits and wines, and fashion toward a diverse customer base of tourists, expatriates, and locals.
"In our partners at Port City Colombo, we recognise a level of ambition aligned with ODF's game-changing approach to duty-free retail. The opportunity to showcase our credentials on the world stage and contribute to creating a landmark destination in Asia is a key milestone in ODF's journey of progressive expansion across Asia," said Kiera Zhang, founder and CEO of ODF.
