Starhill Global REIT implements COVID-19 measures for retail tenants
They will receive rental rebates and marketing assistance.
YTL Starhill Global REIT, the manager of Starhill Global REIT (SGREIT), is implementing measures to support its retail tenants amidst the coronavirus outbreak, the company said through an SGX filing.
Retail tenants in their Singapore properties will receive rental rebates and marketing assistance.
A one-time rental rebate, with an unspecified amount “more than the property tax rebate announced by the Singapore Government under Budget 2020”, will be given to qualifying tenants, the company said.
SGREIT’s tenants in Chengdu, China will also be offered rental rebates.
The China property contributed less than 1% of the Group’s net property income for the financial year ended 30 June 2019, according to SGREIT.
“To help tenants reduce operating costs, tenants have the flexibility to operate shorter operating hours. Wisma Atria will also be providing parking redemption and other promotional offers to attract shoppers to the mall,” said Ho Sing, CEO of YTL Starhill Global.
Apart from the support programme, SGREIT also amped up their precautionary measures at their properties. These include travel declaration, temperature screenings at select locations, increased frequency of cleaning and sanitising of premises and centralised air conditioner filters, the company said.
SGREIT has also designated premises and predetermined routes with minimal exposure to the public within its properties as isolation areas of any suspected case.
