What online shoppers will likely buy this holiday season
3 in four Singaporeans will make at least one online purchase a month.
Online shoppers in Singapore will likely still spend more money buying apparel and accessories, groceries, and health and personal care products during the holiday season, Amazon Singapore reported.
In a survey, Amazon Singapore found that 38% of Singaporeans plan to spend on apparel and accessories, whilst 35% and 31% will likely spend on groceries and health and personal care products, respectively.

The same report, which surveyed over 1,000 respondents, also found that Singaporeans will likely make at least one purchase a month, mainly due to pricing and sales discounts of up to 50%.
Other key drivers for online shopping are product quality (15%) and trustworthiness (11%).
This comes as Singaporeans remain relatively conservative in their holiday shopping due to the current global economic condition.
In line with this, the Amazon survey found that 57% of shoppers say they will spend less or buy cheaper brands.
“This highlights the need for retailers to look at helping to mitigate consumers’ fear of inflation and offer budget-friendly options for customers,” the report read in part.
