MPA extends partnership with SMU to support maritime talent exchange
The extension will help the industry's transformation towards digitalisation and decarbonisation.
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding extension with the Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) to support professional and academic maritime talent exchange between Singapore and China.
Under the extended MoU, both agencies will collaborate to exchange information, academia, and professionals and initiate student study visits and training programmes whilst covering key maritime areas, including safety and security, energy, port management, aquatic technologies, and environmental management.
Teo Eng Dih, MPA Chief Executive, said the extension reaffirmed the strong and comprehensive partnership between the two countries in enhancing the interchange of ideas and expertise and applying academic and research insights to help support the global maritime transformation towards digitalisation and decarbonisation.
