MPA inks 3 agreements on ammonia value-chain
Two of the three MoUs were made with ITOCHU Corporation.
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has inked three Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) on ammonia value-chain.
During the Accelerating Decarbonisation Conference, MPA inked a MoU that will seek to establish an ammonia fuel supply chain, including an on-shore and/or off-shore facility and an ammonia bunkering ship in Singapore.
The agreement was made with ITOCHU Corporation, ITOCHU Enex, MOL, Pavilion Energy, TotalEnergies Marine Fuels, and VOPAK Terminals.
A separate MoU was also signed with ITOCHU to establish a platform where ammonia bunkering safety guidelines can be “harmonised.”
The platform will be used by ITOCHU and other signatories of the MoU namely Brunsbüttel Ports, the French Naval Fire Brigade of Marseille, Fundacion Valenciaport, Great Port of Marseille, HAROPA PORT, Port Authority of Huelva, Port Authority of Valencia, Port of Algeciras, Port of Rotterdam, ENEOS Ocean Corporation, Mabanaft, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Navigator Gas, and Planning and Design Center for Greener Ships.
MPA has also agreed to collaborate SABRE consortium on development works to establish an integrated ammonia supply chain, to commence ammonia bunkering within this decade.
