It will become the world's first port to implement electronic bunker delivery notes.
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) will launch the digital bunkering initiative on 1 November, making it the first port to implement electronic bunker delivery notes (e-BDN).
The initiative will help boost efficiency during bunkering processes.
Issuance of digital bunkering documents will save 40,000 man-days per year for the bunker industry.
The MPA encourages ship owners, bunker suppliers, operators, and crew to adopt the new system.
MPA plans to make digital bunkering a requirement by the end of 2024.
