Quah Ley Hoon to step down as MPA chief

She will be replaced by Teo Eng Dih.

Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore's (MPA) Quah Ley Hoon will officially step down from her post as Chief Executive on 5 September, more than three years after she assumed the position.

She took on the role of MPA CE on 1 January 2019.

Quah will be replaced by Teo Eng Dih who currently serves as the Ministry of Defence's (MINDEF) Deputy Secretary for Policy.

Amongst Quah's milestones as MPA chief include the Singapore Shipping Tripartite Alliance Resilience (SG-STAR) Fund (2020), the establishment of the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) (2021), and the reclamation project of the Tuas Port Phase 1 (2021).

She was also instrumental in leading efforts such as the Sea-Air-Vaccination Exercise and Sea Crew Vaccination Initiative to safeguard the health of both local maritime personnel as well as crew members onboard ships calling in Singapore.

In 2022, Quah was also awarded the Medal of Commendation by NTUC and  Legion d’Honneur by the French Government.
