Sembcorp Marine ends October with fresh US$300m contract
The FSO contract in Indonesia lifts SMM’s YTD order win to S$3.25b.
The deal, which is Sembcorp Marine’s third major contract for October, also pulled up its current net order book of S$6.3b.
The FSO project was awarded by Mobil Cepu, a unit of Exxon Mobil, to a consortium arrangement between Sembawang Shipyard, a wholly owned unit of SMM, and PT Scorpa Pranedya, an Indonesian ship owning and ship management company.
Under the contract, SMM is responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, commission and hook up of a VLCC-sized floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel for the Banyu Urip project in Indonesia.
The project, which will take 27 months to complete from the awarding of the contract, is seen to be completed in January 2014.
