Singtel launches all-in-one platform for maritime sector

Singtel's iSHIP seeks to make maritime's digital services more efficient.

The first online platform providing satellite-enabled connectivity and digital services was launched to fast track the maritime sector’s digital needs as cargo volume is expected to triple in the next 28 years, telecommunications firm, Singtel, said.

Singtel said the all-in-one platform, iSHIP, has integrated services for crew and fleet management, which will allow ship managers and owners to have greater flexibility and visibility of their resources and operations.

Using iSHIP, customers will get their possible maritime digital services through one point of contact and 24/7 support by Singtel. This will be more efficient for ship owners and operators who need to liaise with multiple parties to procure connectivity and digital services.

According to Singtel, nearly 90% of all goods are shipped through the maritime sector and cargo volume is seen to triple by 2050.
