Neptune Orient Lines names Peter Jongepier as President (Europe)

He will fill in the post that was vacated due to Detlev Kerber's resignation.

The Board of Neptune Orient Lines announced the appointment of Peter Jongepier as President (Europe).

The Company's Executive Resource and Compensation Committee concurred with management that Mr. Peter Jongepier is a good fit for the position after reviewing his 27 years of experience in the maritime industry, 17 of which is with the Company.

Mr. Jongepier will assume the role of Regional President Europe with effect from 1 March 2013.

Mr. Jongepier, 55, will be responsible for the management and operations of the Europe Region, according to a Neptune Orient Lines report.

From 2002 to 2006, he has been, respectively, Vice President Sales and Vice President Operations for the APL Europe Region based in the UK.

In 2006 he was transferred to the Netherlands to head up the APL Benelux organisation as Managing Director, a position which he will hold until 1 March 2013.
