German indoor vertical farm to establish R&D centre in Singapore
It will be co-located with the farm’s planned new mega farm in Changi.
&ever has announced the setup of a global R&D centre in Singapore at the Asia-Pacific Agri Food Innovation Summit, with support from the Economic Development Board.
The announcement follows the recent funding award under the Singapore Food Agency’s ‘30x30 Express’ Grant to build &ever’s new mega-farm in Changi by Q4 2021.
The planned farm is expected to annually produce more than 500 tonnes of locally grown greens.
“By teaming up with local higher learning institutions and established industry players, the R&D center will harness the innovation potential for new climate control concepts and advanced LED technologies, most optimal seeds and substrate combinations, as well as vision control and non-invasive crop monitoring solutions,” &ever added.
&ever also collaborates with global lighting systems leader Signify and plans to partner with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research to explore energy-saving solutions.
