This private jet booking-app backed by Jay Z and the Saudi Royal family is entering Singapore and Asia

Find out the CEO's ambitious plans for the region.

Jetsmarter, a mobile marketplace that allows users to book private jets directly from their smartphones, is making their way to Singapore and the rest of Asian region this April. Founded by tech startupper Sergey Petrossov, JetSmarter aims to change consumers’ views of flying private, by making flight options readily available and affordable to the masses. After raising Series A and Series B rounds of investments led by music mogul Jay-z and the Saudi Royal family, the American startup continues to partner with thousands of air carriers around the world, to provide top private jet inventory to their clients at any given time.

The idea of developing an app that allows booking private jets at your fingertips was conceived in 2009. Sergey began flying private after selling his first IT Company and quickly came to realize that the private jet industry was very ‘archaic’. He found its brick and mortar process of picking up the phone, waiting hours and speaking to numerous different people in order to charter a jet outdated and inconvenient. In 2012, He spoke to the carriers he had established relationships with and discussed how large of an impact an app to charter a private plane would have on the industry. In August 2012, He made it a reality and created the beta version of JetSmarter, sharing it with an exclusive group of industry experts and frequent private jet users. In March 2013, JetSmarter was launched globally. “We want to make private flying easy and accessible for more than just the 1% who are used to chartering private planes,”

According to Sergey, the company is constantly growing at 15-20% each month. At the moment. Sergey shared that they are continuously expanding their services and enhancing their JetDeal and JetShuttle offerings. They are planning to launch JetShuttles and JetDeals in Asia in April.

Sergey believes that the private jet industry is set to take off this year. He believes that mass travel between 100 - 1000 miles will all be private air travel in the future, and large airline style commercial aviation will be a thing of the past in 20 years. I also believe that operational costs will significantly decrease due to hybrid electric aircraft, and with proper sharing technologies (JetSmarter app) private aviation will be priced at a level accessible to the masses.

How it works
JetSmarter offers instant pricing and availability for private jets across the globe, allowing users to book a flight themselves without the hassle of dealing with a middle man. Users can book their flight in a matter of minutes and then fly within 6 hours.

JetSmarter has revolutionized the private jet industry, as we believe our users deserve a convenient way to book a private jet. Currently, it offers its users three different services. First is JetCharter. It’s a hole aircraft charter where users customize their trip based on destination and aircraft. This feature is available worldwide in over 170 countries.

Second is JetDeals which are exclusive, one-way flights on private jets offered free for members of the app. Lastly, it got JetShuttle, a shared aircraft charter, offered at a fraction of the price. Select services are currently offered in the US and in the Middle East, but will soon be expanding.

JetSmarter claims to offer a unique business model unlike any other private jet venture. JetSmarter bills itself as the only private travel service company to operate by way of an innovative app technology. It aims to make flying private something accessible to the masses not just a privileged 1 percent. It offers 4,000 free flights each month to its members who have access to these flights daily.  Its JetDeal offerings provide free flights to members as well as steeply discounted and relatively affordable flights for non-members
