Silk Air confirms dates of deliveries for three new Airbus 320 aircraft next year

The regional wing of the Singapore Airlines also said that nine other aircraft are expected post 2012.

“The 20th aircraft will be delivered in March 2012, the 21st aircraft in April 2012 and the 22nd aircraft is expected in September 2012,” SilkAir’s Head of Public Affairs Soraya Salim told Singapore Business Review adding that there are another 5 aircraft on firm order, with another 4 on option.

Due to commercial sensitivities, Ms. Salim however refused to disclose other information like the average passenger capacity of the aircraft.

SilkAir, one of the youngest fleets in Asia, with an average age of 5.8 years, currently operates 13 Airbus A320-200 and six Airbus A319-100

SilkAir saw passenger load in September increased by 0.7% year-on-year to reach 71.7%.
