2 in 5 Singaporeans eye travel from June to August
Of those with travel plans, 19% want to go overseas.
Singapore’s tourism sector will likely see better days in the next few months as two in five (22%) Singaporeans are planning to travel from June to August 2022, data from Finder.com’s latest Travel Index showed.
Compared to last year, the number of Singaporeans eyeing to travel was up by 20 percentage points.
Overall, Singapore also posted the biggest increase in the number of people planning to travel of the 12 countries included in the report, followed by India and Ireland.
Of those with plans, 30% want to travel domestically, whilst 19% want to go overseas.
Both domestic and international travel plans have grown from the same period last year by 13% and 11%, respectively.
Finder.com’s global editor-at-large, Angus Kidman, says we may see more people travelling internationally over the next year.
Whilst international travel is making a slower comeback than domestic, Finder.com’s global editor-at-large, Angus Kidman, said there will be more international travel in the near term.
“With countries now easing their in-bound travel restrictions, it’s very likely we’ll continue to see Singaporeans increasingly interested in international travel in the coming months.”
