Changi Airport to shut down Terminal 1 open-air car park from Oct 17 to 21

It’s a dry run for the car park’s redevelopment.

Changi Airport yesterday revealed that the open-air car park fronting Terminal 1 will be closed from 17 October, Friday, to 2am on 21 October, Tuesday.

This is part of a full-scale dry run for Changi Airport’s expansion plans, which involves the redevelopment of the 3.5-ha Terminal 1.

With the closure of the open-air car park, the nearest parking facility to T1 – Car Park 2B at Terminal 2 (T2) – will be designated for use by T1 visitors. Located at the north end of T2 (Figure 1), this car park will be renamed T1 Car Park when the relocation takes effect.

“As part of Changi Airport’s expansion plans, the open-air car park fronting Terminal 1 (T1) will be closed for redevelopment in the last quarter of 2014. Measures will be in place to ensure the parking needs of T1 users continue to be met with minimal disruption,” Changi Airport noted in a statement.
