Emirates adds five additional Singapore-Dubai weekly services

The airline strengthens its presence in Singapore to a total of 26 flights to Dubai.

Emirates, one of the world’s leading international airlines, has boosted its Singapore-Dubai capacity by 25 per cent with additional five weekly flights. This brings the airline’s total number of flight connections between Singapore and Dubai to 26. This is also the most number of direct Singapore-Dubai flights offered by any airline.

“The growing passenger demand for flights on the Dubai-Singapore route signals the growing links between these two important global hubs. In addition to enhancing the existing strong business and trade links between the two cities, we are excited to play a part in further growing their respective tourism sectors. With this increased frequency, it offers our valued customers added flexible travel options and enhances their travel experiences by allowing them to connect even more seamlessly to our other flights in Emirates’ expansive global network,” said Nick Rees, Emirates’ Manager, Singapore and Brunei.

The inaugural flight EK 354 departed Dubai for Singapore on 30 October 2011. Passengers on board this flight hailed from 17 different destinations across America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East regions, of diverse nationalities including Americans, Germans, Dutch, Greeks, Swiss, Italians, French, Austrians, Spanish, Turkish, Moroccans, Tanzanians, South Africans, Emiratis, Omanis, Kuwaitis and Iranians.

In addition, Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of the airline transported about 10 tonnes of cargo including ship spare parts in the belly-hold of the aircraft on the same flight. For its return flight, it transported a diverse load which weighed about 16 tonnes, comprising of ship spare parts, mobile phones and various other electronic goods, according to an Emirates report.

A 364-seat Boeing 777-300ER, offering 12 First Class Suites, 42 Business Class and the remaining 310 Economy Class seats, serves this additional Singapore-Dubai non-stop flight service.

Flight EK 354 departs Dubai at 0325hrs (local time) and arrives in Singapore at 1445hrs (local time) every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The return flight, EK 355 departs Singapore at 0200hrs (local time) and arrives in Dubai at 0510hrs (local time) every Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

To bolster its commitment to Singapore, Emirates will further increase the frequency of its Singapore-Dubai route to a daily flight beginning 2 February 2012, growing the airline’s flight frequency to 28 flights out of Singapore to Dubai per week.

Emirates currently serves an extensive global route network that spans 115 destinations in 67 countries. Emirates has already launched flight services to a number of new destinations this year which includes Basra, Geneva, Copenhagen and St Petersburg. In addition, the international carrier will begin flight services to Baghdad on 13 November 2011. Emirates continues its growth trajectory with new routes to Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Dublin, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Dallas and Seattle from Dubai in 2012.
