The budget airline of Qantas will also add five Airbus A320s and two A330s to its Singapore operation.
Chief Executive Bruce Buchanan was quoted by Reuters as saying, “The total (fleet size of) the low-cost carrier market (in Asia-Pacific) is about 450 aircraft today and we envisage it to grow to in excess of 2,000 aircraft by the end of the decade.”
He said they need about 400 aircraft to maintain 20 percent market share by 2020.
