Scoot begins Singapore-Taipei flights

402 seats per flight available daily to and from the Taiwan capital.

Scoot CEO Campbell Wilson said though that it will take "a few weeks" for the flights to reach daily flight status.

"And daily not only to Singapore - from late October we’ll continue on to Tokyo Narita and become the first low cost airline linking these two fantastic cities," Mr Wilson said.

"Scoot is therefore proud to be linking Taipei with Singapore, and with Tokyo, and to strengthen the deep ties that already exist between these cities. We are delighted to be bringing our unique blend of service and value to Taiwan, and of course, tourism and business opportunities," he added.

Scoot’s inaugural Singapore-Taipei service departed Changi Airport Terminal 2 at 1.12am on Tuesday, 18 September 2012 and arrived at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport ahead of schedule at 5.17am. The first flight from Taipei departed for Singapore on the same day at 6.22pm.
