SIA announces pre-flight and on-board protective measures
The announcement came after the government's decision to further ease the restrictions on inbound travel from selected countries.
Singapore Airlines (SIA) has introduced new health and safety protective measures to reduce COVID-19 risks as it prepares for more travel activities, the airline announced in a press release.
Customers may be required to provide a complete health declaration before their flight. To minimise contact, the airline has also introduced an online check-in system and pre-ordering of duty-free shopping via krisshop.com. The group welcomed the government’s decision to ease restrictions on inbound travel on selected countries.
“The recovery of air travel and airfreight is a necessary catalyst for the recovery of global trade and economies severely impacted by COVID-19,” SIA group said in a statement.
“Today’s announcement is an important step towards the gradual rebuilding of the Singapore air hub,” the group added.
The group shared that it has arranged complimentary SIA care kits and designated seating zones on-board.
Moreover, passengers from Southeast Asia and Mainland China will be offered a snack bag instead of a meal tray due to regulatory requirements, the press release said.
