The pilot is expected to run for a year.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) said its pilot program on the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel in Changi Airport will commence in 2022.

The one-year pilot was will be done in partnership with Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Singapore-headquartered global investment company Temasek.

In preparation for the pilot launch, selected SAF producers and fule supplies were already called on last 21 November to develop and execute plans to deliver blended SAF to the airport.

CAAS Director-General Han Kok Juan said the pilot incorporates the “blending of neat SAF in local facilities, certification of blended SAF, and delivery to Changi Airport.”

SA and Temasek, for their part, said the pilot program is in line with their respective commitments to reduce carbon emissions.
