Changi Airport on track to achieve zero carbon growth until 2030

It has capped absolute emissions at 2018 levels.

The Changi Airport Group (CAG) said it was able to maintain its absolute carbon emissions at 2018 levels, making it on track to achieve its goal to achieve zero carbon growth until 2030.

In its sustainability report, CAG said it will retain its emissions cap despite an expected growth in the number of passengers it will serve in the years ahead.

" CAG strives towards a Net Zero aspiration by 2050 through the use of new technologies and the increased adoption of renewable energy," the airport said.

Other environmental strides that CAG has done include a 5.9% decrease in its overall water consumption. The airport has also diverted 11% of its waste from incineration.

On the social aspect, CAG said it is on track to achieving a 25% staff volunteerism rate and 3,000 volunteer hours yearly by FY 2025/26, amongst others.

CAG said it also has achieved its goals to have zero employee work-related fatalities yearly,  and a yearly deficiency-free rating from the International Federation of AirLine Pilots’ Association (IFALPA),
