
Changi nabs seventh spot in global airport rankings
It lags behind Hamad International Airport and Tokyo International Airport.
Singapore’s Changi Airport has been identified as the 7th best airport in the world with a score of 8.27 out of 10, according to a study by air passenger rights company AirHelp.
The airport score is calculated based on on-time performance, service quality and food and shops, whereas Changi Airport got 7.8, 9.2 and 8.7 points on these areas, respectively.
Globally, the three best airports are Hamad International Airport (8.39) in Qatar, Tokyo International Airport (8.39) in Japan and Athens International Airport (8.38) in Greece.
On an Asia-wide basis, the airport would be recognised as 3rd best behind Hamad International Airport and Tokyo International Airport.
On the other hand, AirHelp also released its top global airlines rankings where Singapore Airlines placed 13th with a 7.71 score. The study assessed airlines based on on-time performance, service quality and its claim processing efficiency. On these areas, SIA got 8.0, 8.7 and 6.4 respectively.
Qatar Airways holds the recognition as the world’s top airline with a total score of 8.23, followed by American Airlines and Aeromexico which both have 8.07 points.
