Changi passenger movements up 16.5% to 9.94mln

Full service carriers accounted for over 50% of the reported growth for the period of January - March 2010.

A Changi Airport Group release highlighted, "For the month of March 2010, some 3.45 million passenger movements were recorded at Changi, a growth of 18.8% compared to March 2009. This is the third consecutive month of double digit growth in passenger traffic."

The report added aircraft movements grew to 62,723 for the first quarter, or a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2009. According to the Changi Airport's air traffic statistics, a total of 21,604 aircraft movements were registered in March.

Changi Airport, connected to approximately 200 cities, is served by 86 airlines operating 5,000 weekly scheduled flights.
