Chin Yau Seng now running Tiger, Tony Davis new Australia CEO as airline fights for survival downunder
Aussie regulator applies to extend flight ban as Tiger axes Aussie CEO Crawford Rix and Mr Chin assumes responsibilities of Mr Davis.
In a statement, Tiger Airways Australia said it understands that CASA intends to file an application in the Federal Court on 7th July seeking an extension to the suspension period until 31 July 2011.
"Tiger Airways has been working constructively with CASA for the past five days to establish a plan for the resumption of our services and will not oppose the period of extension. The airline remains committed to resuming services as quickly as possible."
As a consequence, Tiger Airways will refund fares to those passengers holding reservations between now and 31st July. Tiger Airways offers its sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Tiger Airways Australia’s current CEO, Mr Crawford Rix, will leave the airline on 31st July.
Mr Tony Davis, the Group President and CEO of the airline’s parent company, Tiger Airways Holdings Ltd, will be appointed CEO of Tiger Airways Australia.
Mr Davis’ former responsibilities will be carried out by Mr Chin Yau Seng, Executive Director of Tiger Airways Holdings Ltd.
Mr Davis will continue to serve as a Director of Tiger Airways Holdings Ltd.
