Famous for Aussie flights? Scoot launches direct flights to Gold Coast
Five-times-weekly services to the land 'famous for fun' will now be available to passengers.
According to a release, after its inaugural flight to Sydney a week ago, Scoot, Asia’s newest low cost carrier, will take flight to the Gold Coast, its second Australian destination, tonight.
With the Gold Coast being “Famous for Fun”, Scoot is entering into the party spirit. The 400 guests aboard the inaugural service will be accompanied and entertained by Barbarella and Pornsak from Singapore’s award-winning TV comedy The Noose. And, in keeping with the lighthearted theme, the service will be operated by Barry, the name given to aircraft 9V-OTA after a social media competition.
Scoot’s five-times-weekly services depart from Singapore Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 at 10.25pm, and arrive at Gold Coast Airport at 7.50am the following day. The return flight departs the Gold Coast at 9.00am and arrives into Singapore at 3.00pm, offering connections to many of the 220 cities in 60 countries accessible from one of the world’s premier air hubs.
