Here’s why Singapore’s Zika scare is a major headwind for Singapore Airlines

It’s likely to face lower passenger traffic.

Singapore’s flag carrier may face fewer passengers in the coming months as Zika virus cases continue to rise in the city-state.

According to a report by OCBC, if the virus continues to pose problems in Singapore over a prolonged period, inbound and outbound traffic will likely be hit.

Meanwhile, the Singapore Tourism Board noted that it was premature to consider any impact on the tourism sector.
