Iswaran unveils 3Cs to ensure aviation's recovery
The 3Cs will ensure a recovery that is safe, smooth, and sustainable.
Transport Minister S Iswaran said "3Cs" will be key to ensuring that the aviation industry recovers in a safe, smooth, and sustainable manner.
The first C would be investing in capacity building.
"We need to make sure we can deal with the current transition and manage future growth and challenges," Iswaran said in a Q&A session at the ICAO Global Support Symposium.
"Having benefitted from the assistance offered by ICAO and other States in our early years, Singapore is now privileged to be able to partner with ICAO in its global implementation support efforts today, to support the training needs of the global aviation community," he said.
Another "C" which countries have to focus on would be climate action, according to the transport minister.
Iswaran said countries need to create "specific and impactful initiatives for the near-term - but also aspirational moves for the longer term."
Last, and most importantly, Iswaran said there needs to be a collaboration amongst countries.
"The road to recovery is not just about one country or one airport or one airline. This is really about the international aviation community coming together," he said.
