MNG Airlines signs up for A330-300 freighter conversions

The first aircraft was inducted for conversion on 1 April.

Turkish cargo airline MNG Airlines has ordered the passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion of two Airbus A330-300 aircrafts from Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW), a joint venture of ST Engineering and Airbus.

The first A330 aircraft were inducted for conversion on 1 April at EFW’s facility, whilst the conversion for the second aircraft will commence in 2022.

The cargo airline will add capacity to its network and complement its current Airbus aircraft fleet with the two conversion freighters.

“MNG Airlines believes that the A330-300P2F, with its higher volumetric capacity, will provide new commercial options for short and medium range routes to the integrators,” MNG Airlines managing director Sedat Ozkazanc said.

Depending on the weight variants, the conversion freighters can offer a gross payload of up to 63 tonnes per flight and a range capability of up to 3600 nm.

EFW CEO Andreas Sperl stated that they are excited to welcome MNG Airlines as a new A330P2F programme customer.

“We look forward to a good working relationship with MNG Airlines and to supporting them strongly to meet the growing international and regional air freight demand,” Sperl said.
