Over 1,000 eco-friendly aviation fuel credits to roll out in July
The credits are expected to cut carbon emissions by 2,500 tonnes.
Over 1,000 sustainable aviation fuel credits will be available for sale in July 2022, which is part of a cause to promote the use of eco-friendly aviation fuel in the market.
In a joint statement, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Singapore Airlines (SIA), and Temasek said the credits are generated from the 1,000 tonnes of SAF from Singapore Changi Airport.
These credits, which are in line with the CAAS-SIA-Temasek November 2021 pilot, are projected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2,500 tonnes.
“Every credit purchased will help to reduce 2.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions,” read the joint press release.
By buying credits, they can also help promote demand for SAF, back the development of the nascent SAF industry, and promote the adoption of SAF for a sustainable aviation industry.
